A team of researchers from Germany and China assessed the potential protective effects of Chinese goldthread, scientifically known as Coptis chinensis, against diseases associated with oxidative stress, such as Parkinson’s disease. The team published their findings in The American Journal of Chinese Medicine.
In conclusion, Chinese goldthread and its main alkaloids could possibly be used for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease.
