A team of researchers at Andong National University and the National Institute of Forest Science in South Korea examined whether extracts from the leaves and branches of the Chinese sweet plum (Sageretia thea) plant have anticancer activity. The research team published their findings in the journal BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine.
In conclusion, the results suggested that Chinese sweet plum leaf and branch extracts have great potential for being developed into an anticancer treatment, particularly for human colorectal cancer.
